Welcome to Our Forgotten Children.
This beautiful book presents, in close-up, the faces of the world’s next generation, along with the stories behind them. The scope of Our Forgotten Children is as unique as the idea behind it, and I believe it can serve as a wake-up call to the world.
The goal is to capture the spirit of children of every race, creed and colour, especially those in need - and to help the schools and hospitals and families who are desperately trying to support them.
On their travels, Costa and Bill have found themselves in the unique position of seeing first-hand the problems that so many kids are facing. Now, thanks to the Our Forgotten Children’s Trust, we can all do something to help.
If there’s one thing that links all of these pictures and stories, it’s an underlying sense of hope. You can see it in the children’s faces, feel it in their words. While the plight of these children cannot be ignored, we should all take pride in their potential.
As Chairman of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which supports many thousands of children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS around the world, I have witnessed the transformation that shining a spotlight of support and hope on children who need it can bring about in their lives.
So I salute the aims of this exciting project and wholeheartedly endorse its vision. By acting together, we can all make a difference.
